Glutathione: The Master Antioxidant Your Body Already Makes (and How to Support It)

Glutathione doesn't get the same spotlight as vitamin C or caffeine, but among people who study antioxidants, it's often considered one of the most important. Your body actually produces it on its own, which is exactly why it's worth understanding.

The antioxidant your cells run on

Glutathione is made from three amino acids and exists in nearly every cell in your body. It's often called the master antioxidant because unlike vitamin C or E, which your body has to get from food, glutathione is produced internally and recycled to keep working.

It's studied for its role in helping neutralize free radicals and reactive oxygen species, the unstable molecules that can build up from everyday stress, poor sleep, alcohol, pollution, and general wear on the body. Researchers associate unchecked oxidative stress with fatigue, slower recovery, and that generally run-down feeling.

Why levels drop when you need it most

Here's the problem: the things that create the most oxidative stress, a late night, a hard workout, a stretch of poor sleep, are also linked to lower natural glutathione levels. Production is also understood to slow with age. So the moments your body could use it most are often the moments it has the least.

That's where support matters. Glutathione breaks down during digestion, so it's difficult to get a meaningful amount from food alone, which is part of the reasoning behind including it directly.

Why it's in Celera

We include glutathione for exactly this reason: to support the body's natural antioxidant defenses when it's already under load. Paired with curcumin, it gives Celera antioxidant coverage from two different angles, not just one ingredient doing all the work.

It's not flashy. It's one part of a formula built to support your body, not replace what it already does.
